SUFFERN, NY --Â Lackawanna survived a late surge from Rockland CC in the second half, holding off the hometown Hawks for an 89-85 victory on the road on Tuesday evening in New York.

The Falcons (2-1) led by double-digits through most of the second half, including an eleven-point lead at 81-70 with 2:50 to play, but the Hawks (1-3) went on a frantic 13-3 run over the next two minutes to get the game to a one-point deficit at 84-83.
Mason Lawson (Sophomore; Boston, MA) made a pair of free throws to put the Falcons up three,
Nazir Rowell (First Year; Harlem, NY) added a free throw of his own, and, after Rockland had a pair of free throws of its own,
Niare Poplar (Sophomore; Philadelphia, PA) went 2-for-2 with nine seconds remaining on the line to put Lackawanna ahead by the final margin.

Aamir Mack (Sophomore; Atlantic City, NJ) led the way with 29 points for Lackawanna, while Poplar added 20 points. Tayejon Lynch had 24 points for Rockland.

The Falcons are back in action on Thursday, November 16
th, when they travel to North East, MD to take on Cecil College. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00pm ET.
