SCRANTON, Pa. -- Xavier Lasenburg made a valiant rally and won three straight battles to get to the Grand Finals championship, only to fall to his teammate, Bikrom Chanda, in the Eastern Super Regional Grand Final championship match, 3-1, guaranteeing Lackawanna College a Super Region Champion in the NJCAAE Super Smash Brothers Ultimate Playoffs on Tuesday night. 

Chanda (Gamertag: BASH) managed to hold off Lasenburg (Gamertag: Lvl.X) in a competitve 3-1 championship match, but both Lackawnana student-athletes will advance to the NJCAAE National Tournament to represent the Falcons on the national stage.

Chanda, by virtue of his unbeaten run last week, had just one match heading into Tuesday night's festivities, where he knocked off Terra State CC's "Spider_Dog" by a convicing 3-0 margin to cruise into the final match. The road to the Grand Finals for Lasenburg was a little more arduous. 

After a defeat last week, Lasenburg dropped to the lower bracket in the double-elimination tournament. That meant he needed to battle his way back through the consolation bracket, which included needing to win three match-ups tonight just to get into the final. Well, that's just what he did, sweeping past "Comet" from Bryant & Stratton, then taking down another B&S combatant, BigFish, this time by a 3-1 margin, to get into the lower bracket final. There waiting for him was the recently defeated Spider_Dog from Terra State CC, but Lasenburg was undaunted, winning his third straight match of the day, and his sixth straight overall, to make the Eastern Super Regional Grand Final an all-Lackawanna affair.
