SCHUYLKILL HAVEN, Pa. –
Sebastian Carmona scored another hattrick,
Kevin Taipe added two goals, and Lackawanna College won its fourth straight game with a dominating 7-1 victory on the road at Penn State Schuylkill on Friday afternoon in non-league action.
The Falcons (7-4-0) put a ton of pressure on the home Nittany Lions, putting up 21 total shots, 12 on target, and converting seven of those shots on target. Taipe
(First Year; Lima, Peru) got the Falcons on the board right away with a free kick goal in the second minute, then got the Falcons a second goal nearly a half hour later with a goal in the 29
th minute.
Daniel Hayner (First Year; Northumberland, PA) got his second goal in three games in the 40
th minute to give the Falcons three first half goals, before the second half explosion, where Carmona
(First Year; Scranton, PA) scored three straight goals in a span of seven minutes, and Guillermo Ramírez
(First Year; Valencia, Venezuela) rounded out the scoring on a goal in the 75
th minute.
Jahdale Givans (Sophomore; Bronx, NY) had three saves on the day, as the Falcons dominated possession, holding an 8-3 advantage in corner kicks to win their sixth game in their last seven contests.
Lackawanna College gets back to work for its regular season finale on Thursday, October 19
th, when the Falcons travel to take on the Cougars from Frederick CC in Maryland. That game is set for a 4:00pm ET kickoff, and will be the final game before the Falcons appear in the Region XIX DII playoffs the next weekend.
