MBB: Lackawanna College Hangs On For Big Region XIX Win Over Morris

The Falcons Put Four Players In Double-Figures And Closed On A 15-3 Run To Come Away With The Win

SCRANTON, Pa. -- For the second straight game, Lackawanna College men's basketball built a double-digit lead in the first half, only to see it evaporate in the second half. And, for the second straight game, the Falcons still came out with the win, ending the game on a 15-3 run to close out County College of Morris, 84-72, on Wednesday evening in the Lackawanna College Student Union.
 
The Falcons (10-3, 3-2) put four players in double-figures, and shot 47% from the field, while forcing 25 turnovers on defense. Lackawanna was led by Nasir Brown (Wilmington, DE) and Malek Mims (Bethlehem, PA), who each had a team-high 18 points. Brown had 18 points and four assists on 7-for-17 shooting, while Mims had 18 points and six rebounds, as well as two steals, while shooting an efficient 8-for-10 from the floor. Nashawn Johnson (Bronx, NY) matched his season-high with 14 points and seven rebounds, going 6-for-8 from the floor, and Aamir Mack (Atlantic City, NJ) added 13 points off the bench. Rahmad Ali (Newark, NJ) had an all-around excellent game, scoring nine points, dishing out a season-best seven assists, and picking up five rebounds.
 
Morris (5-5, 2-2) was led by James Taylor, who scored a game-high 22 points, 19 in the first half, and by Kyle Philistin, who had 19 points and six rebounds. Daniel Oravbiere added ten points and a game-high 16 rebounds.
 
The Falcons are back in action on Saturday, January 14th, when they host SUNY Westchester for a 1:00pm ET tip-off inside the Lackawanna College Student Union. The game is the first of a doubleheader, with the women's team following at 3:00pm ET.
