SCRANTON, Pa. – The Lackawanna College women's volleyball team will play its fourth match in seven eight days on Tuesday, September 20
th, when the Falcons travel to Bryn Mawr, PA to take on the Harcum College Bears in Region 19 WVB action.

The match is set for a 7:00pm ET start inside the Klein Gymnasium on the campus of Harcum College. If you can't make it in person, the match will be livestreamed via the Harcum College Athletics YouTube Channel

About The Falcons
Lackawanna College (1-4) has dropped its last four matches, which includes a 3-0 sweep to Northampton CC this past Saturday. The Falcons dropped the first set 25-8, and battled hard in the second and third sets, but lost each by a score of 25-14.
Hunter Heeman (New Milford, PA) led Lackawanna with ten kills, while
Makayla Jones (Weatherford, TX) had seven kills and 12 digs. Read the recap

Heeman has a team-best 33 kills so far this season. Hunter is averaging a little over 6.6 kills per match, and also leads the Falcons in service aces with ten on the year. Her ten kills against Northampton was her season-best. She also has hit double-digits in digs in three matches, with a season-high 18 against Delaware Tech.

Jones is tied with
Melanie Pinillos (Miami, FL) for second on the team with 14 kills this year. Her seven-kill performance against Northampton was her breakout of the year. She has hit double-digits in digs twice, including 20 in the loss at County College of Morris last week.

Pinillos, primarily a libero, has been playing a little bit of everything so far this year for the Falcons. She had a season-high seven kills in the first match of the year, a win over Lehigh Carbon, and has twice hit three service aces in a match for the Falcons. Pinillos has hit double-figures in digs in three matches, with a season-best 24 digs coming against Delaware Tech.

Delaney Hollnebeck (Kingsley, PA) has ten kills so far this season, and is tied for third on the team with Jones and
Brittney Shaffer (Gratz, PA) in service aces, with six on the year. Hollenbeck leads the Falcons with 36 assists this season, twice crossing double-figures in helpers, with a season-high 12 coming against Northampton CC in her last match.

The head coach for the Falcons is
Shelby Morgan, in her first season at the helm. Morgan previously spent seven seasons as the head coach at Cedar Crest College, where she helped transform the Falcons from a conference basement dweller into a perennial threat, culminating in an NCAA tournament appearance in 2021.

About The Opponents
Harcum College (0-5) comes into the match having last played on September 15
th, a 3-0 loss to Northampton CC. The Bears have been swept in four of their five matches, taking Cecil College to five sets a week ago. Harcum managed a season-best 34 kills in that match, and held a 2-0 lead after two sets, but dropped the final three to the Eagles.

Samantha Lachette is the top attacker for the Bears, averaging 7.6 kills per match, and leading the team with 38 kills on the year. Lachette has a team-high 74 digs this year, which includes the Cecil match where she put up 37 digs. Lachette also had 20 kills in the loss to Cecil. Lachette had six kills and 12 digs in the loss to Northampton CC.

Dineyska Alvarez Santon is second on the team with 11 kills on the year, with a season-high four kills coming against Cecil. Alvarez Santon is second on the team with 56 digs, 25 of which came against Cecil. She had three kills and nine digs in the loss to Northampton. Â

Cristina Chubok is third on the team with 36 digs on the year, and leads the Bears with five service aces on the year. Chubok has seen action in the last two matches after missing the first three. She had three kills and all five of her service aces in the loss to Cecil. She also had 27 digs in that match. Chubok had a kill on seven attacks, along with nine digs, against Northampton.

Kandey Torres is the assists-leader for the Bears, putting up 34 helpers on the year, all coming in the match against Cecil. Torres has seen action in the last two matches, after not playing in the first three of the year for Harcum.

The Bears are led by Cassaundra Kleespies, now in her second season, and third year at Harcum. Kleespies joined the Bears in the summer of 2020, in the midst of the pandemic. She helped guide Harcum to a 9-6 record last season. Kleespies has been coaching volleyball basically since her college graduation in 2012. Kleespies has spent time coaching at three different high schools in Ohio and PA, as well as youth volleyball coaching. She coaches with Synergy Volleyball as an instructor. She graduated with a 3.8 GPA from Toledo, where she was a conference leader in the MAC in hitting percentage during her junior and senior years with the Rockets. Went to HS in PA at Avon Grove, where she helped AG to a quarterfinal appearance in the PIAA playoffs, and made multiple all-state teams. Â
