BSB: Crucial Weekend Of Region Contests Awaits Lackawanna College

4/29/22

SCRANTON, Pa. – The Lackawanna College baseball team heads into the final weekend of the regular season with a big opportunity to ease their road to a possible Region XIX championship. Lackawanna College enters the weekend with the same region record as Delaware Tech CC. If the Falcons can match results with the Terry Hawks through the first games on Friday and Saturday, then that will set up massive doubleheader on Sunday that could decide the top-seed, and host school, for next week's Region XIX tournament.

The upcoming schedule for Lackawanna College looks like this: On Friday, April 29th, the Falcons will host Mercer County CC for a Region XIX doubleheader at Scranton HS, with the first game starting at 1:00pm ET. Then, on Saturday, April 30th, the Fighting Owls of Harford CC will come to Scranton for a nine-inning contest with the Falcons at 3:30pm ET, also at Scranton HS. Finally, on Sunday, May 1st, the Delaware Tech Terry Hawks will return to Scranton to finish the doubleheader that was delayed by torrential rain earlier this month.

As the standings are right now, Delaware Tech is the top-seed and host for the Region XIX playoffs next weekend, while the Falcons, despite having the same record, would be the two-seed. Each team still has four Region games to play. Delaware Tech, before they come to Scranton, will play a doubleheader against County College of Morris on the road on Saturday, April 30th.
