Scranton, PA - Lackawanna suffered a 15-5 loss to the Giants after only training 6-5 in the 8th inning.
The Falcons started the scoring in the third inning when
Raymond Vorhees stole home. They added two more in the same inning when
Cody Fleischer drove in two more runs with a double. The Giants answered with six runs in the fifth to take a 6-3 lead. Lackawanna narrowed that lead to two on Jacob DiCesare's RBI double in the sixth and to one on Kyle Borroello's bases-loaded walk in the seventh. It looked like the fans were in for an exciting ninth inning when neither team scored in the eighth.
Unfortunately, the Falcon fans were in for a big disappointment as Keystone put nine unanswered runs on the board in that final frame. At the plate Lackawanna recorded three extra-base hits and three multi-hit performances. Those extra-base hits consisted of two doubles by Fleischer and a two-bagger by DiCesare. George Casto (5-0-2-0), Fleischer (5-1-2-2), and DiCesare (3-0-2-1) contributed the multi-hit games. In addition to his steal of home Vorhees had three more stolen bases for a total of four for the game.
Sam Daniels suffered the loss.
