Lackawanna Suffers 1st Home Loss Since 2014

April 10, 2021

Scranton, PA - Saturday afternoon the Lackawanna College football team suffered a disappointing loss to Snow College by a score of 27-7. The Badgers started the game by scoring two touchdowns and a field goal in the first quarter which led to the Falcons chasing them for the rest of the game.

The Falcons did put a dent in that lead in the second period when they generated a 13 play 86 yard drive. Antwan Squire concluded the drive with a two-yard scoring plunge and Cameron Ceccotti followed with a successful PAT to make the score 17-7.

Neither team scored the rest of the quarter thanks to Lackawanna's defensive stand late in the period. With a first and goal on the Lackawanna one-yard line, the Falcons stopped Snow on four consecutive plays.

In the third period pass interceptions by William Hacket and Tyrece Mills stopped two more Badger drives. Like the goal-line stand, the Mills' interception brought the fans to their feet as his pick took place on the Lackawanna goal line.

The Falcons defense was less effective in the fourth quarter as the Badgers scored a TD with 14:55 left in the game and a subsequent field goal with 12:36.

Despite the loss Dewayne Grantham and Tyrece Mills registered impressive performances. Grantham recorded nine solo tackles and two assists while Mills logged seven solo tackles, three assists, two tackles for loss and his interception.

The Falcons' next game is Sunday, April 18th, when they play Hocking College at Nelsonville, Ohio.
