Scotland, PA - The Lackawanna College baseball team beat Scotland Prep twice by scores of 18-3 and 13-1. In doing so they run their streak of scoring double-digit runs to six consecutive games.
George Castro had a memorable day driving in seven runs on four hits in five at-bats in the opening contest. In the fourth, he slammed a grand slam, doubled in a run in the third and singled in two more in the sixth. Colin Macko also had two doubles while Brandon Earnst added another. Daniel Keenan contributed the only triple of the contest when he drove in an RBI in the 6th.
Five Falcons had multi-hit games. They were Jake Kelchner (5-2-3-0), Brandon Earnst (5-2-3-0, 2B), Daniel Keenan (4-3-3-3, 3B) and George Castro (5-3-4-7, two 2Bs, HR).
Cameron King received credit for the win.
In the nightcap the Knights took a one-run lead after the first inning. However, that would be the only run they would score. Lackawanna would score six in the second, three in the third and four in the fourth. Both Jake DiCesare and Daniel Keenan highlighted the second-inning rally with an RBI double by DiCesare and Keenan's grand slam. Jesnel Soto struck the Falcons' other home run, a three-run bomb in the third. Soto also singled in two more in the following inning.
The Falcons had three players with multi-hits in the game, John Heltebran (3-3-2-0), Jesnel Soto (3-2-2-5, HR) and Jake DiCesare (3-1-2-2, 2B)
Pitcher Sam Daniels claimed the win.
