SCRANTON, Pa. -- The Lackawanna College Esports Valorant squad ran their winning streak to seven straight with a 2-0 victory over Dawson Community College on Thursday night.
The best-of-three series started out on Bind, with the Falcons being forced to play the first map a man down (4v5) due to Internet issues for one of their starters. The disadvantage didn't seem to rattle the Falcons, as the chemistry among the Lackawanna College players kept their gameplay together and their momentum moving forward. The Falcons would only lose one map on their defensive rounds, and from there on out, they would win every round. Lackawanna College took the 4v5 win over Dawson, 13-1.
Edwin Acosta (Gamertag: Axomaly) sat atop the leaderboard with a KDA of 25/4/4, while
Nathan Ayers (Gamertag: Quakian) finished with an 18/11/10 and
Caden Delaney (Gamertag: bozi) had a 17/4/6.Â

The intermission before the next map gave the Falcons time to grab one of their substitutes,
Lucas Fein (Gamertag: Shmippy), who joined the Falcons for the match on Icebox. Lackawanna College would start on defense yet again, and right away they dug their feet in on each point and did not let Dawson gain any ground. Dawson put up more of a fight this time around, but it was still not enough to make the Falcons sweat. Dawson was able to win two rounds on Icebox, but the communication, defensive and offensive strategies, and utilization of each individual's utilities are what kept Lackawanna College in control. The Falcons would go on to win the Icebox match with a score of 13-2. Once again, Acosta was perched high up on the leaderboard with a KDA of 21/10/1.Â
