SCRANTON, Pa. – The Lackawanna College Women's Volleyball team became the first athletics team to play on the new gym floor inside the Lackawanna Student Union in their home opener on Tuesday night.  Playing host to County College of Morris, the Falcons fell in straight sets, 3-0, to the Lady Titans.
 
The Falcons (0-7) had four separate players record a kill, as Olivia Lynwood, Abby Phillips, Breonna Pollack, and Sydney Kostick all got on the score sheet.
 
Morris (7-3) fell behind with a service error to start the match, but then rattled off six straight points to take control of the match. The Lady Titans had six service aces in the first set, and took advantage of some Lackawanna College errors to run away with set one, 25-5.  
 
The second set went similarly, with a few more service aces falling for the Lady Titans and the Falcons struggling to keep up. Morris won the second set, 25-8, to take a 2-0 lead for the match.
 
The third set would see the best fight from the Falcons. After falling behind 17-5, Lackawanna College would take advantage of some errors from the Lady Titans to run off a few points, but Morris would eventually assume control. The Lady Titans would win the third set 25-10, sealing a 3-0 sweep and their fourth straight win on the year.
 
Lackawanna College jumps right back into action on Wednesday, October 20^th, when they welcome Northampton Community College for a doubleheader starting at 6:00pm. They then close out the season when they travel to Morris on Thursday, October 21^st for a 6:00pm start.
