SCRANTON, Pa. --Â The Lackawanna College Esports Overwatch team remained undefeated in NJCAAE competition with a 3-0 sweep over Hinds Community College on Friday night.
The match started on Ilios for the first map, and from the opening roll out the Falcons brought their "A" game. Lackawanna took the first two rounds of the map quickly, without letting the opposing team gain any control of the point. It gave the Falcons a 1-0 advantage.
Hinds CC chose King's Row for the second map of the night, and escorts-style map. Lackawanna College started on the attacking side.
Donovan Curley (Gamertag: DarkMage) led the way, playing as Mei. Curley kept the battle raging by freezing the enemy team and taking key enemy players out of important team fights. On the defensive side, the lines were led by
Paige O'Hara (Gamertag: Momjeans) and
Anthony Smith (Gamertag: Gummypwns). O'Hara and Smith had great synergy, with Smith distracting the enemy team and O'Hara launching in the D.Va bombs. The Falcons held strong on the defensive side to go up 2-0 on the evening.
The third and final map of the night was Temple of Anubis, a two-capture point map. Lackawanna once again attacked first, and from the start the Falcons took control, winning the first point with a cheeky teleport strategy. While pushing for the second point, the Falcons met resistance and made some hero adjustments to march on and take it. On the defensive round, the Falcons again held strong, not allowing the enemy to gain a single tick point which sealed the map and the match.Â

The Overwatch squad improves to 4-5 overall, and 4-0 in NJCAAE competition. They'll be back on-stream Monday, October 18th, when they take on Ontario Tech. Stay tuned to the Lackawanna College Esports Facebook and Twitter for scheduling and streaming updates.
