CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa. – The Lackawanna College Men's Soccer team fell in their regular season finale against the nationally-ranked Harcum College Bears, 10-0, on Wednesday afternoon.
The Falcons (1-4-1) were out-possessed for the majority of the match and could only come up with a handful of meaningful shots, as the #11 Bears (9-0-0) kept the ball firmly planted in the Falcons' defensive third.
The first 20-or-so minutes ticked by with Lackawanna College on the defensive, and Harcum finally found the breakthrough at about the mid-way point of the half to make it 1-0. From there, they'd score four more goals to make it 5-0 at the break, with some coming from the run of play and others as the result of set pieces.
Early in the second half, the Falcons had an opportunity with a ball dragged across the face of goal to
Ahmed Kaid, who skied the shot over the crossbar. Apart from a few raids forward, that would be as close as the Falcons got to a goal.
Meanwhile, the Bears added another five goals in the second half, using their possession and quick off-the-ball movement to keep the Falcons on their heels, defensively.
This was the final scheduled regular season game for Lackawanna College. There is a possibility of other games being added before the regular season window closes next week. Any additional games will be posted to lackawannafalcons.com.
