Baseball goes 2-0 on Day 2 of Myrtle Beach trip.

Box Score Myrtle Beach, SC - The Lackawanna College Baseball Team continued its play in Myrtle Beach by taking on John Wood Community College at 9:00am and Penn State-Dubois at 12:00am.  The Falcons fell to John Wood CC yesterday by a close score of 4-2 and they were looking to avenge that loss, to even up the games between them.  They were also trying to go undefeated for the first time this season in doubleheaders, which would allow them to carry momentum into their final day in Myrtle Beach, on Tuesday.

Lackawanna wasted no time getting on the board when David Williams hit a 2-run homer in the first inning, to give the Falcons an early 2-0 lead.  John Wood cut the lead in half in the 2nd, but Lackawanna answered back with another run.  However, they wanted more when they had the bases loaded, but were unable to capitalize.  Raymond Kruse was able to shut down John Wood and the Falcons' offense gave him the support he needed.  Lackawanna scored an additional 3 runs and then Zach Klapak relieved Kruse. to close out the game, giving the Falcons the 6-1 win.  In Game 2, the Falcons continued where they left off in the 1st game, scoring a run in the 1st inning, to take an early lead.  In the 2nd inning, German Vasquez hit his first homer for Lackawanna, to increase the lead to 2-0.  As the game went on, the Falcons' bats continued to come alive and they dominated in each inning, scoring another 9 runs, to only 6 by John Wood CC.  Lackawanna would go on to win their 2 game of the day, by a score of 11-6.

The Falcons have one more day in Myrtle Beach before they travel up to North Carolina and Virginia, to continue their spring break trip. They will face Lakeland Community College at 9:00am, followed by Spoon River College at 12:00pm.
