Scranton, PA – On Thursday night, the Lackawanna Women's Basketball team stepped out of Region XIX play, when they welcomed in Region XX member, Cecil College, to the Historic Student Union. The Lady Falcons were riding a 13 game winning streak and looking to stay undefeated at home. Even though this was not a region game, Lackawanna still knew there was a lot at stake and could not get caught, looking ahead to Monday's Region XIX match-up with Bucks County Community College.
With
Kyla Smith still nursing an injury,
Miliesha Troche was once again in the Lady Falcons' starting lineup. She wasted no time and started the first quarter off with a quick 3-pointer.

Keyanah Price took an inbounds pass for an easy jumper under the basket. Troche would next convert on another 3-pointer, followed by a FG from Price and Cecil was forced to call a time-out, down to the Lady Falcons 13-4. Out of the timeout,
Ciaira Loyd stole a Cecil pass and connected on a 3-pointer, which was followed by a 3 from McCullough, to push the lead to 19-4. On the next possession,

The second quarter began with

Jamie Brann came back into the lineup and hit a short jumper in the paint, followed by a FG by

Ciaira Loyd would find
Jayla Lewis on a fast break, to settle things down on offense. McCullough converted on another fast break opportunity, followed by
Jayla Lewis and the quarter would end with the Lady Falcons taking a 49-16 lead into the half.

Miliesha Troche connected on a 3-pointer from the corner and then Coach Whittington called a quick 30-second timeout to settle the Lady Falcons down. Out of the time out,
Jamie Brann drew the charge and Mcullough would take the ball down the court for a 2-point FG, to give Lackawanna a 56-20 lead. On the next possession, Brann would draw another charge, and then hit a jumper in the paint, on the offensive side of the court. After 2 free throws, Cecil picked up the full court pressure, but

Jayla Lewis and
Daeja Cromartie scored the final 4 points of the quarter, to give the Lady Falcons a 70-32 lead.
The fourth quarter saw

Kiana Williams FG from the foul line and would force Cecil to call a time out. Both teams traded baskets, but Troche stepped out, once again, and hit her fifth 3-pointer of the game, to give Lackawanna a 45-point lead, 86-41. With the lead, Coach Whittington continued to get quality playing time from her reserves.
Alayah Cowan took advantage of it and banked in a 3, from the top of the key. As the buzzer sounded, the Lady Falcons would come away with a 91-47 victory.
