Scranton, PA - The Falcons win tonight's NJCAAE Valorant playoff match over Carl Albert State, 2-0 in the best of 3 series. Lackawanna College was on point tonight on both maps. CASC chose Ascent as the first map in the series, which is traditionally not the first choice of the Falcons. Starting out on attack with the same lineup as last week, Lackawanna played a little bit too aggressive which allowed CASC to take 5 rounds away on their defensive run. By roaming around looking for picks, they ended up feeding CASC a few kills. Going into the half the score was 7-5 but the Falcons would not lose another round on Ascent. On defense, Lackawanna's positioning was superb. Playing 2 men on each site and 1 lingering in the middle, they were able to catch each site rotation and clean up every round. CASC could not figure out how to break through the Falcons' defense and the first match ended with a score of 13-5 in Lackawanna's favor.
As the winner of the first match in this best of 3 series, the Falcons were able to choose the second map and that ended up being Bind. Bind is arguably the Falcons' favorite and most practiced map, and that showed. Starting out on attack once again, Lackawanna chose a familiar path onto B site through hookah with Krypt and Quakian in order to gain some sight on point. They started catching on the CASC was only keeping two people on B site, and the Falcons started to take advantage. While CASC did manage to take away 2 rounds from Lackawanna on their offensive push, those would be the only 2 rounds they would win, and the Falcons started to get more and more aggressive with their offensive pushes. At the half, the score was 10-2 in Lackawanna's favor, giving them only 3 rounds on defense in order to finish this series in 2 matches. The Falcons love defense, and CASC's attack, once again, could not seem to break through. Lackawanna went on to win the second map 13-2 over CASC, sealing the 2-0 victory. The Falcons move on to round 2 of the NJCAAE Valorant playoffs which will be played by or before Saturday, 12/12.
