Scranton, PA - The Falcons' Overwatch team moves on to the 2020 NJCAAE Overwatch Championship after their 3-2 win tonight over the Hocking College Hawks. On the first map Oasis, Hocking surprised the falcons with an early lead, taking control in the first two rounds of the map and putting the falcons back onto their heels. However, the Falcons would return on the second map of the night, Kings Row. On Kings Row, the Falcons were able to push the payload the entire distance of the map with time left on the clock, setting a fast pace for Hocking to match. When it came for the Hawk's turn it was a valiant effort, but the Falcons' defense was able to prevent the Hawk's from even releasing the payload. It was a great defensive stand by Lackawanna College that brought the series to 1-1. Hanamura was selected as the third map and the Falcons were able to take both points with ruthless efficiency leaving two and a half minutes on the clock. Hocking was able to respond in kind by taking the first point quickly but struggled on the second, where the Falcons held the point for a full 4 minutes giving them their second map and the lead in the series, 2-1. Then the match moved on to Havana, where the Falcons were stopped just 7 meters short of a full push on their attack. This time it was Hocking's turn to upset and match pace, pushing the payload a greater distance and taking their second map and tying the series, yet again, at 2-2. The match would be decided on Lijiang Tower. On the last control map, the Falcons were determined to win and quickly took control of both points and once again, the Lackawanna defense made a beautiful stand to keep the Hawks at bay, securing the victory in this round 2 playoff match. With this win, the Falcons' Overwatch team moves on to the 2020 NJCAAE Overwatch Championship which will be played on Thursday, 12/17.
