Scranton, PA - The Falcons started out tonight's best of 3 series attacking on Haven. The boys in blue were quick to pick up a couple rounds right out of the gate with aggressive pushes on each site. With Edwin "Krypt" Acosta on Jett, they were able to utilize her maneuverability to the fullest in order to get on site quick and plant the spike. AJ "gummypwns" Smith started out on fire tonight, as well, helping his team by grabbing key eliminations during their offensive push. The Falcons were able to get a 6 round cushion going into the side change with a score of 9-3. The Mystics' attack proved to be sharper than their defense, however. They seemed to prefer quick C site pushes and managed to quickly recover several rounds. Once the Lackawanna defense started to recognize their attack plan, the Falcons were able to re-strategize and pick apart the Mystics attack. Nathan "Quakian" Ayers and Michael "Salimander" Bochnovich pulled a few sneaky flanks around the back of Bismark in order to help lead the Falcons to victory during the end of their defensive rounds. The first match on Haven finished in favor of Lackawanna College with a score of 13-7.
The next match was set to Ascent where once again, the Falcons started on attack. The Mystics' defense was a force to be reckoned with and Lackawanna College struggled to gain an advantage on offense. Round after round, Bismark was picking apart our pushes on point. Towards the end of our attack rounds, we began to gain some ground and brought the score to 5-7 before the side change. Bismark was not letting up. Their attacks were very strategic, but the Lackawanna defense was strong, and they evened out the playing field by bringing the score to 7-7. The Falcons managed to win the next two rounds with careful placements in the middle of the map, catching the Mystics' rotations from site to site. Bismark returned the favor by winning the next two rounds with aggressive attacks on site. After the score evened out again
at 9-9, the Falcons put the pedal down and eventually won the map on Ascent, 13-9. Lackawanna College won tonight's best of 3 series 2-0 over Bismark State College and moves on to play in the 2020 NJCAAE Valorant Championship which will be played
on Friday, 12/18. Stay tuned to our Facebook and Twitter for time confirmation of the championship match!
