Scranton, PA - The Falcons Overwatch team takes its first loss in the NJCAAE tonight from Hawkeye CC, 0-3. On the first map of Lijang Tower, the Falcons managed to win the first point but that would be their only cap of the series. The Redtails are a fierce team and they came out with aggression tonight. After Lackawanna claimed the first point, Hawkeye began to dominate the match. Their Pharah was strategically picking off our players left and right and preventing the Falcons from holding the second point. Now down 0-1 in the series, the Falcons would have to regroup and come out swinging on the second map at Kings Row. After a long battle to secure the payload, Lackawanna was able to begin their escort but the Redtail's defense would keep them from making it to the first checkpoint. This would mean that Hawkeye would only have to push their payload just as far as Lackawanna, and they did just that with little to no pushback from the Falcons. Hawkeye was holding all the momentum with the series at 2-0 going into the third and final map on Anubis. Lackawanna put up as much of a fight as they could to try and capture the first point from the Redtails, but their defense had their feet planted and the Falcons could not break through. All that Hawkeye had to do now was win the first point after the side change in order to secure the sweep over Lackawanna College. They did just that in the final 30 seconds of the match with a full team push onto the point that the Falcons were not able to stop. A rude awakening for the Falcons as they take their first loss in the fall NJCAAE Overwatch season and move to 6-1. They will take this VOD into practice to pick apart what went wrong and come back stronger against the Redtails in the playoffs which are set to start the week of December 7th.
