Scranton, PA - The Falcons' Overwatch team goes 1-1 in tonight's doubleheader, winning their NJCAAE matchup over the Finger Lakes CC but losing the NACE match against Shenandoah University.
Coming in after a tough loss Monday night, the Falcons came in hungry but FLCC also came to play. The best of 5 series was a back and forth battle to capture the objectives and move the payload on every map. Finger Lakes CC managed to fight off the Falcons and win the first map but the Falcons kept their composure and managed to secure the second map with the help of some key Junkrat plays from Laura "Aorta" Whiting. With the help of some solid Reinhardt plays by Conor "ronok205" Aglialoro and our usual DPS go-to, Sebastian "dyre" Hutchins, the Falcons were able to tire FLCC out and take the next two maps in order to secure the NJCAAE victory over the Finger Lakes CC, 3 games to 1.
Due to the length of the NJCAAE match, Lackawanna College only had roughly 15 minutes to collect their thoughts, work out new strats and hop right back into battle in the NACE Fall Cup match versus Shenandoah University. The Falcons clearly showed their fatigue after the hard-fought previous match. Chris "Bebbly" Rojas, AJ "gummypwns" Smith, and Nathan "Quakian" Ayers provided some relief for the Falcons but Shenandoah was able to counter everything we threw at them. The fight was long and arduous, but Shenandoah was able to pull into the lead and hold onto it all game. The Falcons did not go softly into the night and were pestering Shenandoah on every point and payload. However, Lackawanna College was unable to get the upper hand and Shenandoah University came out on top, ending the series 3 games to 0.
The Falcons move to 2-0 in the NJCAAE and 2-4 in the NACE Fall Cup. Stay tuned to our Facebook and Twitter for scheduling information on our next Overwatch matchups.
