Scranton, PA – The #7 Lackawanna College Women's Basketball team returned to action Tuesday night as they welcomed in fellow Region XIX-member Mercer County Community College to the Historic Student Union. The Lady Falcons returned from the Thanksgiving break showing no signs of rust as they picked up right where they left off last week. They would put on a dominating performance and shut down Mercer County's offense for most of the game.
As the 1
st quarter began, Lackawanna wasted no time taking control of the game. Their defense was smothering and would not allow Mercer County any offensive rebounds. The Lady Falcon's effort turned into numerous offensive opportunities, which gave them an early 25-3 lead.
Keyanah Price was able to establish herself in the paint, allowing her to score and create lanes for the guards to get to the basket. The offense was also very efficient by moving the ball around giving a number of Lady Falcons the opportunity to score.

Miliesha Troche all helped push the Lackawanna lead to 32-5, after the first 10 minutes.
The 2
nd quarter was very similar to the first, as Lackawanna continued to shut down Mercer County's offense. They would hold the Lady Vikings to under 10 points until the 6:08 mark of the quarter. Even with a 46-11 advantage, the Lady Falcons did not let up on their pressure and would finish the half with a 59-15 lead. Once again, Lackawanna had multiple players contribute by shooting 11-19 from the floor in the quarter, while holding Mercer County to only 27% shooting.
With a large lead to start the 3
rd quarter, Lackawanna was determined not to become complacent and let the Lady Vikings get back into the game.
Daeja Cromartie and
Keyanah Price were both able to convert shots in the paint, while
Briaunna McCullough and
Miliesha Troche picked up where they left off in the first half. The Lady Falcons outscored Mercer County 31-14 and held them again to under 30% shooting. As the quarter came to a close, Lackawanna would see their lead increase to 90-29.
The 4
th quarter saw Lackawanna outscore the Lady Vikings 25-11 behind they play of
Jasmine Lewis and
Allanah Bradford. Lewis added 6 straight points, while Bradford connected for a 3 pointer and grabbed 3 defensive rebounds.
Miliesha Troche and
Keyanah Price each added a 3 of their own and
Jamie Brann muscled her way into the paint for a score, to give the Lady Falcons a dominate 115-40 win.
For the game, Lackawanna shot 53% from the field and 45% from the 3-point line. The bench played a big role in the win by scoring 51 points and the Lady Falcons were able to convert on 25 second chance points. Their ability to dominate down low, turned into 54 points in the paint and the defense converted 21 points off of turnovers.
Briaunna McCullough led all scorers with 21 points and
Miliesha Troche and
Keyanah Price added 16 points each.
Kiana Williams led all players with 11 rebounds.
The win moves Lackawanna College to 6-1 overall and 4-0 in Region XIX. The Lady Falcons have a week off before they return to action, Tuesday December 10
th when they travel to Mohawk Valley Community College. Tip-off is scheduled for 4:00pm.
