Joe Evans

After three years as an assistant on both the men's and women's soccer teams, Joe Evans became the head coach for the men's soccer program for the fall 2021 season.

As an assistant, Evans helped guide the young Falcons program to a 2019 season that saw them win the most games in school history (six), and had three players named to All-Region teams, including a first-team All-Region selection for Marcellus Bonney.

Coach Evans was also on the staff for the COVID-19 shortened spring 2021 season, helping the Falcons get through a challenging spring season due to the pandemic.

In addition to his duties at Lackawanna, Evans is also a youth soccer coach with the Coal Miners Youth Soccer Club in Northeast Pennsylvania. There, he works with youth soccer players ranging from 12-to-18 years old, helping them develop and harness their skills and understanding of the game.

Evans has also spent the last nine years working for the Boys and Girls Club of Northeastern Pennsylvania, running after-school programs for kids ranging from kindergarten to twelfth grade. There, he helps kids develop social skills and participate in activities that encourage good behavior, communication, and positive life choices.

Evans graduated with a Bachelors Degree from the University of Scranton, majoring in Journalism and Electronic Media.

Evans resides in Scranton.
