Will Flannery was named as the head men's soccer coach in February 2026, and his first season with the Falcons will be in the fall 2026 campaign.
Flannery has nearly a decade of collegiate soccer experience already under his belt, and was most recently an assistant coach at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA before coming to Lackawanna. In his season with the Mountain Hawks, Flannery helped guide Lehigh to a Patriot League championship game appearance and six all-conference selections. Flannery oversaw team scouting reports and video analysis, while also managing the recruiting database and coordinating visits and communication with potential recruits.
Before going to Lehigh, Flannery spent seven years at Dickinson College in the NCAA Division III ranks. Flannery spent five seasons playing with the Devils, three as a team-captain and navigating the COVID-19 pandemic, then immediately was added as the first assistant and recruiting coordinator after his senior season concluded, becoming the first full-time assistant in program history. Dickinson achieved never-before-seen heights with Flannery's help, making the NCAA Elite 8 for the first time in program history, while hosting both the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 in the NCAA tournament. Dickinson finished #6 in the national polls in 2024, and Flanery helped recruit and produce two All-Americans, five All-Region selections, and ten all-conference members in his two years. He balanced his full-time schedule at Dickinson to complete his master's degree at Shippensburg University as a graduate assistant with the men's soccer team there.
In addition to his collegiate work, Flannery helped organize youth soccer camps for the Lehigh Soccer Academy (LSA) and was a member of the Lehigh Valley United Rush soccer organization. With the LSA, he was a co-director and camp supervisor, coordinating the staff, handling the marketing and advertising, and managing the ins-and-outs of the LSA Youth Soccer camps. With the Rush, he was the head coach of the 2009 boys ECNL-RL squad, as well as the assistant for the 2009 and 2010 boys ECNL squads, helping manage the team personnel, organizing practices, and picking the best tournaments to showcase his players.
Flannery has also spent time coaching the USL League 2 side Eagle FC, which competes in the Mid-Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference in the league, which is on the fourth rung of the US Soccer Federation system. Based out of Mechanicsburg, the Eagle FC squad offered youth opportunities, as well as semi-professional chances for top-level Division I, II, III, and junior college players to have high-level competition in the summer and off-season.
Flannery owns a bachelor's degree from Dickinson in International Business and Management, and his master's degree in Science from Shippensburg is for Organizational Development & Leadership.
Flannery has a USSF Grassroots LIcense, as well as a USSF D License.
