The Lackawanna College Athletic Department has announced the hiring of Todd Peet as its new Head Women's Volleyball Coach. Peet is a 29-year veteran of the volleyball circuit, both as a player and a coach. Peet played for and was a member of the USVBA (United States Volleyball Association, now USA Volleyball), where he competed at the highest levels of the sport, qualifying for Nationals and other major tournaments.

Locally, Peet has been a part of the volleyball community in NEPA for a number of years, most recently as the Head Volleyball Coach for the Electric City Volleyball Club U18s, where he developed numerous athletes to compete at the collegiate level.

"We want to welcome Todd to Lackawanna College," said Erik Larson, Athletic Director for Lackawanna College. "We're excited to have a coach who brings a great deal of experience at many levels of competition."

In addition to his experience playing on a national level, Peet is also a member of the AVP (Association of Volleyball Professionals) and the PAVO (Professional Association of Volleyball Officials), and has decades of experience providing coaching camps and clinics to help develop and grow the game, especially here in Northeast PA.

"It's clear to me that Lackawanna College is determined to elevate the sports program to the next level," said Peet. "The College's commitment to balancing academics and athletics, while maintaining a high level of excellence, is exciting for me."

Coach Peet inherits a program that sat out the 2020-2021 season due to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The Falcons were 12-12 in their last season, and earned the 3rd seed in the Region XIX Tournament before bowing out to Mercyhurst North East.

"I intend on building a results driven volleyball program that has the reputation for being competitive and successful, through hard work and team building," said Peet.

"I'm eager to see where Todd can take our volleyball program," said Larson. "And I am looking forward to what can happen under his leadership."
