Robert Dee was brought on as the Esports Program Coordinator in the fall of 2023, and will now enter his third season in charge for the 2025-2026 scholastic year.
"Bobby" is a full-time IT staff member at Lackawanna, joining the College in February 2020, but he quickly entered as a volunteer assistant with the Esports program in the fall of 2020, helping as an assistant coach for the Overwatch team. He then transitioned to head Overwatch coach in the fall of 2021, before becoming an assistant in the Esports program as a whole in 2022.
Dee helped promote and support the Falcons in his time as assistant, eventually working his way up to take over as Program Coordinator. In the time that he has been in charge of the program, Bobby has overseen the Falcons capture three championships, including a pair of NJCAAE tournament championships in Rocket League, and an NECC tournament title in Rainbow Six Siege. He creates graphics and handles the social media for the Esports program, while also coordinating the Shoutcasting and broadcasts on the Lackawanna College Twitch channel of all Lackawanna Esports streams.
Dee has also helped develop marquee events inside the Peoples Security Bank theater on campus, hosting tournaments and LAN events that involve both high schools and collegiate programs.
Dee helped the program partner with the Extra Life charity and the Children's Miracle Network with an annual fundraiser. In the past two years, Dee and the Esports crew have raised nearly $25K (2023 and 2024), all to benefit the Children's Miracle Network at the Janet Weis Children's Hospital in Danville, PA.
A Dunmore native, Bobby has been playing video games from a very young age, and played competitively in Call of Duty, Counter Strike, and Day of Defeat. Before coming to Lackawanna College, he was an IT consultant with Iron Tree Data Networks in Scranton.
Dee graduated from Penn State University with a bachelor's degree from the College of Information Sciences and Technology.
