DUNMORE, Pa. – Four early goals set the tone for #4 West Chester, as the Golden Rams defeated Lackawanna College, 5-1, on a rainy and overcast Saturday afternoon at Schautz Stadium.
 
The Falcons (1-8-0) were under pressure all afternoon, as West Chester (6-1-1) posted 25 shots, 16 on frame, and 17 in the first half alone, scoring a goal in the third minute, and then three goals in the span of eight minutes in the first half to take a 4-0 lead into the break.
 
The Golden Rams scored a fifth goal in the 59^th minute, but Alana Alayo (Cherry Hill, NJ) got the Falcons on the board with a long-range effort in the 67^th minute. The shot skipped off the glove of the keeper and snapped the nets, giving Lackawanna just its second goal of the season and the first of the year for Alayo.
 
West Chester had 13 corner kicks and forced eleven saves from keeper Sophia Arvelo (Allentown, PA). The Falcons had just two shots: Alayo's goal and a shot attempt from Tazjeane Bird (Upper Darby, PA).
 
Lackawanna College will get back to more PSAC action on Saturday, October 3^rd, when the Falcons are scheduled to take on Shippensburg University on the road in Shippensburg, PA. Kickoff is set for 2:00pm ET, and the game is the second match-up between the two sides. Shippensburg won the first match-up, 6-0, back on August 29^th.
