Lackawanna College Softball Pitcher Mekenzie Revere Was Named As The EPAC Player Of The Week For Her Performance In The Circle

3/31/26

SCRANTON, Pa. -- Lackawanna College softball student-athlete Mekenzie Revere (Ansonia, CT) was named as the Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (EPAC) Softball Player of the Week for her important week in the pitcher's circle for the Falcons, according to a release from the EPAC on Monday afternoon.

Mekenzie was a big part of why Lackawanna College went 7-1 last week, not allowing a run in all three of her wins out of four starts last week. In a combined 19.2 innings, she gave up just ten hits and three earned runs, while striking out 41 batters. Against the Finger Lakes on Tuesday 3/24, Mekenzie struck out 15, the most by a Falcon pitcher in a single game in six seasons, helping Lackawanna to a 10-0 victory over the Lakers in just five innings. Revere gave up just two hits and walked one batter. Against Morris on Thursday 3/26, Revere started the first three innings and combined with her teammate Abby Yenalevitch to throw a perfect game against the Titans, not allowing a baserunner in five innings of combined work for the Lackawanna win. Revere struck out six batters in her three innings. She struck out ten more batters on three hits in five innings against Sussex on Saturday 3/28, helping the Falcons to the 8-0 win against the Skylanders. She added ten more strikeouts in a loss at D3 #6 SUNY Corning CC on Sunday 3/29, giving up five runs, three earned, on five hits in 6.2 innings of action. Batters hit just .148 against Revere last week, and she had a 0.32 BBs/Ks ratio.

Revere was named as the POTW as a pitcher, while Delaware Tech's Abby Marsh was named as a POTW as a batter. Marsh had four hits in two games, posting a pair of doubles and three RBIs.

Elsewhere, Northampton CC baseball pitcher Nate Unger was named EPAC Pitcher Player of the Week, while Northampton's Matthew Tankred was named POTW as a batter. Delaware County CC swept the other categories, as DCCC's Jimmy Love and Cheyenne McCarthy were named as the EPAC Players of the Week in Track & Field.

Revere is a first-year student-athlete at Lackawanna College, and she's studying Cardiac Sonography. She was named as the Lackawanna College Athlete of the Week, earlier this week.

The softball Falcons are home on Tuesday, March 31st, with a doubleheader in region play against Salem CC. First pitch is set for 3:00pm ET at Scranton HS softball field.
