SCRANTON, Pa. – Three outstanding Lackawanna softball student-athletes were named to the 2025 Region XIX Division II All-Region team on Friday afternoon, according to a release from the Region XIX Softball committee.

Two Falcons were named to the All-Region DII First Team, as sophomore center fielder
Emmalee Mowery (Mechanicsburg, PA) and sophomore utility player
Jillian Heimberger (Unionville, PA) earned the first team nods. First-year pitcher
Mia Scalese (Moscow, PA) was named to the second team.

Mowery finished 2025 with a .440 batting average through 52 games and 70 total hits, placing her fourth in all of Region XIX, and third amongst Division II players. She also was fourth in the region in runs scored (61) and her 42 RBIs were tied for ninth in the region. Mowery led the region with 35 walks this season. Her 70 hits were tops on the Falcons this year, and she had team-highs in OPS (1.135), slugging (.597), OBP (.538), runs (61), doubles (16), XBHs (20), total bases (95), walks (35) and stolen bases (21). She had 23 multi-hit games and finished the season on a ten-game hitting streak. She finished the season with 115 putouts and just two errors in center field, posting .983 fielding percentage on the year.

Heimberger posted a .422 batting average and had 68 total hits, tied for fifth in the region this season, in 53 games. Jillian's five triples were tied for sixth in the region, third in Division II, and her 44 runs had her ranked inside the top 20 in Region XIX. Heimberger's 1.047 OPS was second on the team this season. She and Mowery led the Falcons with 41 RBIs, and her 17 extra-base hits were second for the Falcons this year. Jill led Lackawanna in appearances (53) and her 44 runs were second behind Mowery. Heimberger drew 18 walks and stole 15 bases. She had 17 multi-hit games on the year. Heimberger was a Swiss army knife for the Falcons on defense, playing the outfield, third base, and even pitcher. There wasn't a better example than her outing against Salem CC in the region playoffs, where she was 2-for-3 with five RBIs, including a two-run homer, while also pitching five shutout innings, allowing just two hits in the victory. In the circle, Heimberger finished the season with a team-best 4.34 ERA and went 7-4 in 19 appearances, 12 of which were starts. Heimberger allowed 77 runs, 51 earned, on 106 hits, striking out 42 and walking 22. Opponents hit .297 against Heimberger on the season.

Scalese improved as the year went on, winning four of her last five appearances in the regular season, including winning both games in one day against Salem CC on April 24
th at home. Scalese was 9-9 overall in 22 appearances in the circle, posting a 4.74 ERA. Scalese allowed 92 runs, 68 earned, on 131 hits in 100.1 innings, striking out 87, which placed her sixth in the region. Scalese walked 50 and hit 19 batters this year. Opponents hit .310 against her this season. Mia's best game came against Delaware Tech CC on April 19
th, pitching a complete game shutout in a 1-0 win for the Falcons. Scalese allowed four hits and struck out a season-high nine batters in the victory. Scalese was effective at the dish, too, posting a .320 average this season on 39 hits. She scored 21 runs and drove in 18, hitting six doubles and two triples.

Delaware Tech CC's Kylee Hill was named the Pitcher of the Year, while Player of the Year went to Salem CC's Ella Hayes for the second straight season. Region XIX champion Mercer County CC led the way with five first-team nods. The full list of region honorees is below:
