SCRANTON, Pa. – Prior to the Region XIX Division II championship game on Saturday afternoon, the 2025 Region XIX Division II All-Region team was announced, and Lackawanna College was well-represented.

Lackawanna College baseball had six players named All-Region overall, with five first-team selections. First baseman
John Hughes (Hamilton, NJ) was the Region XIX Offensive Player of the Year and one of those five, along with pitcher
Liam O'Leary (Souderton, PA), catcher
Jake Kelleher (Exeter, PA), shortstop
Brooks Henderson IV (Feasterville, PA), and right fielder
Deacon Brown (Williamsport, PA).
Louis Kegerreis (Murrysville, PA) earned a second-team selection as an infielder.

Heading into the tournament, the Falcons were leaders in several categories across the region.

Hughes, a sophomore, was hitting .445 and had 53 hits heading into the weekend. He had a 1.432 OPS and had 48 runs and 46 RBIs. His ten homers were tied for fourth in all of Region XIX. He posted a .575 on-base percentage, first on the team and fourth in all of Region XIX, and he was slugging at .857, second in the region this year. Hughes had 17 multi-hit games coming into the weekend, and he was on an eleven-game hitting streak. He kept things rolling, adding five hits and five RBIs in three games to help the Falcons secure a Region XIX championship.

Kelleher split time at catcher and DH this season for the Falcons. The sophomore was hitting .437 entering the tournament, compiling 55 hits. He had a 1.224 OPS and a .526 on-base percentage, second behind Hughes. Kelleher had six homers, 15 doubles, and 29 RBIs entering the playoffs, posting 18 walks and six stolen bases. He had 14 multi-hit games. Over the weekend, he added six more hits, five more runs, and three RBIs to his totals to help the Falcons win the title.

Brown, a first-year outfielder for the Falcons this season, was a .432 hitter entering the playoffs, posting 63 total hits, which was seventh in the region. Brown had a 1.320 OPS, second on the team, and had 14 doubles and eleven home runs entering the playoffs. He was second in all of the region with his home run output. His 52 RBIs were tied for eighth in all of Region XIX. He had 17 multi-hit games and entered the region tournament on a nine-game hitting streak. In three games this weekend, had had two doubles, four runs, and six combined hits.

Henderson, a sophomore, entered the weekend with 68 total hits, second in all of Region XIX, and had a .425 batting average. He had 18 doubles, tied for third in the region, and 53 RBIs, seventh in Region XIX in the regular season. Henderson had five homers and a .476 OBP, while scoring 48 runs. He had 21 multi-hit games and had a 12-game hitting streak entering the playoffs. In three games, Brooks had three runs and just one hit, but that hit was a two-run homer in the Region XIX championship game against Mercer.

Kegerreis, a sophomore who played outfield last year and was forced to play second base this season, hit .368 entering the postseason, scoring 47 runs and posting 16 doubles and seven home runs, while driving in 43 RBIs. Kegerreis had a 1.101 OPS for the regular season, and he had 15 walks and eleven HBPs. He had 15 multi-hit games on the year, and posted four hits, including a double, along with four runs and five RBIs in three games in the Region XIX playoffs.

O'Leary is a sophomore who led the Falcons with 60.2 innings entering the weekend. He was 5-4 with a 4.60 ERA in 12 appearances this season, striking out a team-high 86 batters. Opposition hitters were hitting .256 against him on the year. O'Leary had posted at least four strikeouts in all of his appearances entering the weekend. He saved his best for the playoffs, striking out a season-high 13 in a season-long eight innings of the 13-6 win against Mercer in the championship game on Saturday.

The Region XIX Pitcher of the Year was Collin Williams from Mercer County CC, and the Region XIX Coach of the Year was Russ Stupienski from Mercer. The Falcons led the count with five first-team selections, while Mercer had three first-teamers and three on the second team. The full list of region honorees is below:
