"Jack" was 7-for-11 (.636 BA) at the plate in four games this week, driving in eleven RBIs and hitting four extra-base knocks, including two doubles and two home runs. Hughes also scored six runs, drew three walks, was hit by two pitches, and he stole a base. Hughes compiled a 2.114 OPS (.750 OBP + 1.364 SLG) on the week, helping the Falcons win three games. He was 2-for-3 with two runs and three RBIs in a 12-1 win against Monroe CC last Tuesday, hitting a two-run homer in the first inning to get the scoring started for Lackawanna College. He was 1-for-3 with an RBI single and a bases loaded walk in the 4-3 win for the Falcons on Friday morning against Sussex County CC. He was then 2-for-3 with four RBIs and a double in the 6-0 win against Sussex later that afternoon, hitting a two-run single and a two-run double. He had two more hits, another double and another homer, while scoring three runs and driving in two more in a 9-8 loss for Lackawanna this past Sunday. Hughes is hitting .427 on the season, second on the team in batting average among players who have played in 20 games or more. He has a team-high 1.482 OPS and leads the Falcons in home runs (7) this season. He has a team-high .893 slugging percentage, and he also leads the Falcons in on-base percentage at .589. He is first on the team with 21 walks and has 20 extra-base hits this year for 33 RBIs.
