SCRANTON, Pa. – Lackawanna College women's wrestling made more history on Friday night, as the Falcons picked up their first-ever win, 19-10, defeating Bergen CC inside the historic Lackawanna College Student Union gymnasium.
 
The Falcons (1-2) guaranteed the victory when Haylee Fessler (Lansford, PA) defeated Vanessa Ochoa via tech fall, 10-0, at 145 lbs. At that point, the dual then became 10-9, and the Falcons then won with back-to-back forfeit victories at 180 and 207 to pick up the 19-10 victory.
 
At 117, Bergen's Kelly Marques beat Skylar Benninger (Palmerton, PA) via fall, just before the end of the second period. Otherwise, it was three forfeit wins for the Falcons and one forfeit victory for Bergen, while both teams forfeited bouts at 103, 110, 138, and 160.
 
The win is the first team victory for the Falcons in program history, in their first home dual. Lackawanna College will be back in action on Saturday, November 15^th, with an appearance at the Wilkes Open in Wilkes-Barre, PA. The bouts are set to start at 10:00am ET inside the Marts Center at Wilkes University.
