SCRANTON, Pa. – Wrestling in its first home dual in almost six years, Lackawanna College men's wrestling did its best to shake off the rust, but it was the visitors from the University of Scranton that looked fresh, as the Royals beat the Falcons, 45-11, on Thursday evening in non-league action for both sides inside the historic Lackawanna College Student Union.
 
The Falcons (0-1) were competing in their first event of the season, but the Royals (2-1) looked seasoned, winning eight of the ten bouts, and six by fall.
 
After a Scranton win at 125 lbs., Lackawanna College pulled within 6-5 after Sam Vissers knocked off Scranton's Luke Griffin with a 23-6 tech. fall win. The score after two bouts was 6-5, but Scranton quickly rebounded with six straight victories, four of which came via fall.
 
At 197 lbs., the Falcons managed to get another victory when Jeremiah Diaz defeated Joe Epright from Scranton via fall in a brisk eleven seconds. That put the Falcons over double-digits and made it 39-11, Scranton, with one bout to go, another victory by fall for the Royals, this time in 49 seconds.
 
The Falcons get right back to the mats on Friday, November 14^th, with a men's and women's wrestling dual against Bergen CC. The match is set to start at 7:00pm ET inside the historic Lackawanna College Student Union gymnasium.
