SCRANTON, Pa. – Lackawanna College men's basketball will attempt to string three straight home wins together this weekend, when the Falcons host Delaware Tech CC in Region XIX DII men's basketball action on Saturday, January 18
th.

Tuesday's game is set for a 3:00pm ET tip-off inside the historic Lackawanna College Student Union gymnasium, and will be the second game of a doubleheader, with the women's teams playing first at 1:00pm ET. The game is open to the public, with tickets being sold at the door for adults ($5) and students ($3). Anyone with a valid Lackawanna College ID will be granted free admission. There will be a pay-per-view video livestream available via the Lackawanna College Athletics network at lackawannafalcons.com/LIVE.

It's the second time the Falcons have faced Del Tech this year, with DTCC taking the first match-up 74-73 in Newark, Delaware back on November 23
rd. It was a frustrating result for the Falcons, who held a five-point lead with 3:40 to play, before a crucial six-point swing from Delaware Tech gave the home side the one-point lead with 2:10 to play. Lackawanna made two free throws to re-take the lead, but Del Tech answered with free throws of their own to lead at 74-73 with a minute to play, eventually coming away with the win. About Lackawanna College
The Falcons (10-9, 3-4) have won two straight games, and their last three home games, dating back to December. In its latest game, Lackawanna overcame a nearly nine-minute second half stretch where the Falcons only scored five points to come out with the win against Essex County College, 76-72. Lackawanna saw a 48-41 lead get turned into a 61-53 deficit with 6:23 to play, but the Falcons recovered, getting big shots down the stretch and closing strong for the win. You can read the recap

The Falcons average 79.3 points per contest, while giving up 76.2. Lackawanna is shooting 39.7% from the field and just 26.1% from downtown. Meanwhile, Lackawanna opponents are hitting 44.5% and 34%, respectively. Lackawanna has a + 3.8 rebounding margin, with 43.8 boards per game this year. Evan Laybourn-Boddie (Wilkes-Barre, PA) is averaging 16.6 points per game this season, 15th in Region XIX and sixth in Division II. He's shooting 36.6% from the floor and 73.6% from the free throw line. Laybourn-Boddie leads the team with 44 three-point makes, tied for second-most in Region XIX, has dished out 67 assists (3.7 per game), and leads the Falcons with 46 steals this season. Laybourn-Boddie has scored double-digits 15 times this season, putting up a season-high 28 points in the win against SUNY Onondaga on November 10
th, making eleven shots, four of which were three-pointers, while putting up five steals, four assists, and four rebounds. Laybourn-Boddie had six assists to go with his 26 points, six rebounds, and three steals in the overtime win against Jamestown. Laybourn-Boddie scored 23 points and set season-highs in three-point makes (5) and rebounds (8), along with five assists in the win against Sussex  back on December 12
th. Evan set his season-high with eleven assists and 17 points in the win against Rockland on January 11
th, going 11-for-16 from the free throw line. Against Delaware Tech back in November, he had eleven points and just one rebound in the loss. Against Essex on Tuesday, Laybourn-Boddie overcame a poor 4-for-15 shooting performance to score 14 points and post five rebounds in the win.

Sophomore guard
Shawnn Smith (Philadelphia, PA) is second on the team, averaging 15.4 points per game this season. Smith is shooting 44.9% from the floor and is 22-for-23 from the free throw line. He averages six rebounds per game and has 24 assists. He has scored 20 points or more in three games this season and has scored double-figures in nine of ten games he's played. Smith had 23 points and seven rebounds, while playing all 40 minutes, in a loss to Montgomery County CC on November 6
th. He set a season-high with nine rebounds in the loss to PSU Scranton on November 4
th. Smith matched that season-high with nine rebounds against Essex, while also scoring 18 points and dishing out a pair of assists in the win for Lackawanna. Smith matched his season-best with nine rebounds and 15 points, along with a season-high five assists in the loss at Delaware Tech. Smith has not played the last eight games for Lackawanna College, with his last appearance coming against DTCC.

Sophomore guard
Nick Marabito (Upper Darby, PA) is averaging 13.8 points per game this season, third on the team. Marabito is shooting 34.4% from the floor, and has made 30 threes, second on the team. Marabito is a 75.5% free throw shooter and averages 3.8 rebounds per game this year. Marabito has scored in double-figures eleven times this year, with his season-high coming against Mercer County CC on December 10
th, scoring 23 points in the win against the Vikings. Marabito made seven shots from the floor and was 7-for-9 from the free throw line, while also pulling down five rebounds and putting up four steals. Marabito set a season-high for rebounds (12), and had 17 points in the win against Essex this past Tuesday, going 6-for-20 from the floor. Marabito had 13 points, five rebounds, and a season-best eight assists in the win against Sussex in December. Marabito had a nice game against Westchester on January 9
th, leading the Falcons with 20 points on 7-for-15 shooting, hitting four three-pointers, and dishing out four assists. Marabito had 12 points and three rebounds, along with a season-high four steals, in the loss to Del Tech in November.

Sophomore forward
Jireej Cole (Bronx, NY) had a double-double in his first appearance of the year, scoring 16 points and pulling down eleven rebounds against Westchester. Cole shot 7-for-13 from the floor and hit a pair of free throws, while also dishing out two assists in the loss to the Vikings. Cole followed that up with seven points and eight rebounds in the win against Rockland, then posted another double-double with 13 points and eleven rebounds in the win against Essex on Tuesday, making 5-of-7 free throws to help the Falcons to victory. He's shooting 63.6% from the floor through three games and leads the Falcons at ten rebounds per contest. Cole was not available for the Falcons in the fall.

First-year guard
Noah Elias (Silver Spring, MD) had 17 points against Westchester, his first game of the year. Elias shot 6-for-11 from the floor and hit four three-pointers for the Falcons. Against Rockland, Elias had just four points, but had six rebounds and five assists to help the Falcons to the win. Then, on Tuesday against Essex, he had eight points and five rebounds, along with a pair of assists, in the win. Through three games, Elias is shooting 47.8% and averaging 4.3 rebounds a contest, while posting nine assists. Elias was not available for the Falcons in the fall semester.

First-year stretch forward
Noah McIntosh (Philadelphia, PA) is averaging 9.7 points per contest this year. McIntosh is shooting 42.9% from the floor and averages 3.2 rebounds per contest this season. He also has 14 assists, 15 steals, and a team-high 14 blocks. Noah has scored double-figures in seven games this season, including three straight games just before the new year. He has scored his season-high 20 points twice this year, the first coming against Jefferson CC on November 9
th, hitting nine shots and pulling down seven rebounds. The second came in the win against Sussex on December 12
th, scoring 20 points on 9-for-12 shooting. McIntosh set his season-high for rebounds twice this season, pulling down seven boards in the opener against Thaddeus Stevens on November 2
nd, and then grabbing seven boards against Jefferson. McIntosh had nine points and five rebounds in the win against Rockland on January 11
th. McIntosh had just two points in 13 minutes against DTCC in November. He had seven points and a board, along with two blocks, in the win against Essex on Tuesday.

Sophomore guard
Jasier Carter (North Brunswick, NJ) is averaging 7.1 points per game this season, shooting 50% from the floor. Carter averages 4.5 rebounds per game and has 25 assists and 14 steals this season. Carter scored a season-high 20 points twice this season, first doing it against Raritan, along with a season-best eight rebounds on December 3
rd. He matched that season-high against Morris back in December, scoring 20 points and grabbing six rebounds in the loss. He has scored double-figures four times this season, putting up 14 points against SUNY Ulster on November 12
th, then scoring ten points and matching his season-high rebounds with eight boards against Mercer. Carter set a season-high with four assists, four rebounds, and six points in the win against Essex on Tuesday. He had six points and three boards against Delaware Tech back in November.

First-year forward
Tyrick Moy (Williamsport, PA) is averaging 6.9 points per game and 6.7 rebounds per game this season, second on the team in rebounding. Moy also has 17 assists and is shooting 46.2% from the floor. Moy has scored double-figures four times this season, putting up a season-high 17 points and eight rebounds in the win against Jamestown. Moy scored all eight points in overtime for the Falcons. Moy's season-high in rebounding came against Ulster, where he pulled down 12 boards and scored nine points on November 12
th. Moy was held to two points and four rebounds in the win against Essex on Tuesday. He had two points and two boards in the loss to Delaware Tech in November.

Head coach
Kirk Fallon is in his second season as the head coach, and his fifth overall with Lackawanna College men's basketball. Fallon came to the Falcons after a successful two seasons coaching girls basketball at Susquehanna Community HS. Fallon led the Lady Sabers to back-to-back PIAA District 2 championships and a 40-17 record in his two years. Before that, he was also a college basketball assistant at Keystone College for four seasons, where he was involved a lot of the logistics for the program. Kirk has a Bachelor's degree from Marywood, where he played three seasons for the Pacers. He's a northeast PA native, graduating from Susquehanna as a 1,000-point scorer. Fallon is 18-27 in his career at Lackawanna as head coach.

About Delaware Tech
Delaware Tech (7-12, 2-5) is 1-2 in January and is 3-6 in its last nine games. DTCC most recently played on Tuesday night at Raritan Valley, dropping a 109-84 decision to the Lions. Del Tech had the game to an eight-point deficit at halftime, and consistently stayed within nine points through most of the second half, but Raritan shot 55.4% from the floor and hit 15 three-pointers, turning Del Tech over 18 times and, eventually, pulling away for the win. DTCC shot 46.8% overall, but just 3-for-13 from downtown.

On the year, Del Tech averages 78.4 points per game, while giving up 83.6 per game on the year. Del Tech shoots around 43.5% from the floor, and hits 32.3% of its three-point attempts. Their opponents are hitting 45.6% from the floor and 31.3% from downtown. Del Tech holds a +2.4 rebounding margin, averaging 37.7 rebounds per contest, while dishing out 15.1 assists per game, but they average around 19 turnovers per game this season. Del Tech also averages 8.8 steals per game and 2.7 blocks per game this year.

Sophomore guard Drew Zimmerman leads the team with 22.2 points per game this year, second in all of Region XIX and first in Division II. Zimmerman is shooting 44.8% from the floor and 34.5% from downtown, while also making 65% of his free throws. Zimmerman averages 4.6 rebounds per game and team-bests in assists per game (5.5) and steals per game (2.1). He has hit double-figures in all 19 games this season, going for 20+ in 13 games on the season. His season-best came against mercer on December 3
rd, where he scored 38 in a six-point loss to the Vikings. Zimmerman made 12 shots from the floor and went 12-for-12 from the free throw line. He also set his season-high in rebounds in the loss, posting ten boards against Mercer. It is one of two double-doubles this season for Zimmerman, who had another when he scored 23 points and posted a season-high ten assists in a win against Delaware County on December 5
th. Zimmerman scored 25 points on 11-for-22 shooting and had five rebounds in the loss to Raritan on Tuesday night. He had 22 points, five rebounds, and four steals in the win against Lackawanna in November.

Sophomore guard Cameron Moore is second on the team with 15.2 points per game, tenth in Region XIX Division II. Moore is shooting 40.1% from the floor and hitting 28% from downtown. Moore is second on the team with 7.5 rebounds per game, and he's second on the team with 3.4 assists per game. He also averages 1.4 steals per game. He's scored in double-figures 17 times this season, getting a season-high 26 points this past week against Raritan, going 11-for-23 from the floor and grabbing eight rebounds. Moore has three double-doubles this season. His season-best is 15 rebounds, which he's done twice this season against Salem CC on November 14
th and Baltimore City CC on November 16
th. Moore twice achieved a season-high six assists, posting six helpers in back-to-back games against Chesapeake College and Essex in December. Moore hit four three-pointers and scored 15 points, while grabbing three rebounds and dishing out five assists, in the win against Lackawanna back in November.

First-year guard Obi Coleman is third on Del Tech with 14.7 points per game this year, shooting at 45.4% from the floor and 43.6% from beyond the arc, while also hitting 755% from the free throw stripe. Coleman averages 6.3 rebounds per game, third on the team, while dishing out 1.5 assists per game and posting 1.9 steals per game. He also leads Del Tech with 1.1 blocks per game. Coleman has scored in double-figures 15 times this season. His season-high is 24 points, coming against Harford to open the year, where he hit eight shots, six of which were three-pointers. He had 23 points on a season-high nine made shots in the loss to Union. He has hit double-figures in rebounds four times this year, and he twice has gotten a double-double. His season-high is 12 rebounds, which he did three times, against Harford, against Raritan Valley in November, and against CC of Philadelphia on January 9
th. He also had a season-high six steals in the loss against Union. He had 16 points, hitting four three-pointers, and pulled down five rebounds in the win against Lackawanna in November. Against Raritan on Tuesday, he had 12 points and eight rebounds in defeat.

Sophomore forward Toma Smith is fourth on the team, averaging 10.4 points per game and shooting 56.8% from the field this season. Smith averages a team-high ten rebounds per game, eighth in all of Region XIX and second in Division II. Toma has scored in double-figures 12 times this season, which includes his season-high of 22 points on 10-of-12 shooting in a loss to Morris on December 7
th. Smith had 13 rebounds in that loss, one of his ten double-doubles this season. Smith set his season-best with 16 rebounds and 16 points in a loss to Cecil on November 26
th. Smith had seven points and ten rebounds in the loss to Raritan on Tuesday. Against Lackawanna, he had a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds in the win.

Richard Rago is the head coach, now in his seventh season with the program. Rago helped lead the team to a Region XIX DII championship in 2022, and had been a fixture in Delaware basketball circles, coaching boys basketball at St. Elizabeth HS for 30 years before coming to Del Tech in 2018. Rago has 41 wins in his career at Delaware Tech.

The Match-Ups
This is the second match-up between Del Tech and Lackawanna College, with DTCC winning the first clash, 74-73, at home at the Stanton campus. With third-place Morris playing at Raritan on Saturday, the Falcons have a chance to not only even their Region record with a victory, but also move ahead of Morris into third, provided Morris falls on the road. Meanwhile, a win for DTCC could push them ahead of idle Mercer and just behind Lackawanna into fifth place in the Region XIX DII standings.
