SCRANTON, Pa. – The Lackawanna College Athletics Department is happy to announce that 48 student-athletes were cited as All-Academic by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) for the 2023-2024 scholastic year, in a release from the national governing body on Thursday, July 18
th.

Every intercollegiate sport was represented at least once, and the criteria for eligibility was that student-athletes must maintain a 3.6 GPA or higher throughout the scholastic year.

Third team recipients had to have a GPA between 3.6 and 3.79, second-teamers were between 3.8 and 3.99, and first team selections needed a 4.0 GPA throughout the year. The Falcons had 17 named as All-Academic third team selections, 23 second team picks, and eight All-Academic first team recipients.

Baseball had 15 overall selections, the most of the Lackawanna College sports squads. Softball had eight selections, while football posted seven, and women's soccer posted five. Softball had three players make first team All-Academic, the most of any sport, while Baseball led the second team and third team recipients with eight and five selections, respectively.
