SCRANTON, Pa. – The Lackawanna College Men's Basketball team gets back in action this weekend, travelling to Newark, DE to take on Delaware Tech CC, at the Del Tech Stanton campus, on Saturday, December 4
th at 2:00pm ET.

About The Falcons
The Falcons (3-2) haven't played since Tuesday, November 23
rd, when they hosted Mercer County CC, winning 79-51. The 51 points surrendered by Lackawanna College was the lowest amount they've given up since January 2019.
Daryl Coleman led the way for Lackawanna College, with 20 points on six-for-eight shooting from downtown. Coleman was one of two Falcons in double-figures (
Jaylen Davis had 12 points), and one of eleven different Falcons to record points in the win. Lackawanna College shot 54% in the first half, and 47% for the game. The Falcons were 6-for-14 in the first half from beyond-the-arc, with Coleman hitting five in a row at one point to help Lackawanna College take a lead they'd never surrender. Â Â

The Falcons have just two players averaging double-figures this year, but the offense is balanced, with five different players averaging eight or more points per game this year, and eight players with over five points per game.
Jaylen Davis has the team-lead, averaging a team-high 16.0 points per game, to go with his team-leading 8.2 rebounds per game. Davis has hit 61.7% of his shots this year, and is second on the team with five blocks on the year. Davis has scored in double-figures in four of five games this year, including a season-high 25 points against Penn State Hazleton. Davis had a season-high 15 rebounds in that game. JD scored 12 points and had seven rebounds against Mercer County.

Coleman is second on the team with 11.4 points per game this year, bringing down 5.6 rebounds per game as well. Coleman has hit a team-high 13 three-pointers, and is shooting 43% from beyond the arc, also a team-best. Coleman has hit double-figures in three of his five games this year, and his 20 against Mercer County is his season-high. Coleman shot 7-for-10 overall in the win over the Vikings, and had a pair of steals.

Magd Abdelwahab is third on the team, averaging 9.6 points per game, all off the bench, while dishing 4.0 assists per game, first on the team. Abdelwahab dished a season-high six assists against Niagara County, to go with his season-high 23 points. He's hit double-figures twice this year in points, and had seven points, four assists, and three rebounds against Mercer.
David Pope also comes off the bench, averaging a productive 9.4 points per game.
Will Johnson is second on the team with assists at 3.8 assists per game, while
Gabe Springer is the team-leader in protecting the rim, averaging just a shade under two blocks per game.

Lackawanna College is shooting at 43.4% as a team in its first five games, and the Falcons are hitting on 32.1% from beyond-the-arc. Lackawanna is also shooting at 65.2% from the free-throw line. Coach
Landon Gabriel enters his second season as the head coach for Lackawanna College. Coach Gabriel was hired in 2020 to lead the Falcons program, and rebuild them into a contender. Gabriel spent the previous eleven years coaching at his alma mater, Carbondale Area, where he helped the Chargers boys basketball team to numerous PIAA District II playoff appearances. Gabriel is a King's College graduate, where he played basketball for the Monarchs.

About the Opponents
The Terry Hawks of Delaware Technical Community College are 4-6 on the season so far. After losing six of their first seven games, including a five-game skid, Delaware Tech has won their last three games, including an impressive 83-49 win over RCSJ Cumberland in their last game on December 2
nd. Del Tech shares one common opponent so far this year with the Falcons, having defeated Mercer County CC 78-57 earlier this week.

The Terry Hawks are averaging just a shade under 79 points per game this year, while giving up around 80.8 points per game. They're hitting on 48% of their shots this year, and are averaging just over eight made three-point shots per game this year. In eight straight games, they've hit eight or more three-point shots. Credle has hit double-figures nine times this year, including a season-high 31 points against Chesapeake, going 11-for-19 from the field, four-for-six from beyond-the-arc, and grabbing six rebounds. Credle has topped 20+ points twice this year, and had 12 points and five rebounds in the win over RCSJ Cumberland. Â Â

Rashaan Butler is third on the team with 15.1 points per game, and is second with a 7.2 rebounds per game average. Butler is the team leader in field goal percentage (57.1), assists per game (3.1) and steals per game (1.1). Butler has hit double-figures in scoring eight times this year, and has two double-doubles this year. His season-high is 27 points against Raritan Valley. Butler shot 13-for-19 from the field, and had ten rebounds in the win over the Lions for Del Tech. He posted 22 points and a season-high seven assists in the win over RCSJ Cumberland. Â

Tyson Tanner is averaging 7.4 points per game this year, and a team-high 8.6 rebounds per game on the season. Tanner is shooting 57% from the field, and has hit double-figures three times on the year. He scored a season-high 13 points twice this year, against Philadelphia and Cecil College. Tanner also had a season-high 20 rebounds against Raritan Valley this year. He scored four points and pulled down six rebounds in 20 minutes of action against RCSCJ Cumberland.

The head coach for Delaware Tech is Richard Rago, entering his third official season at the helm for the Terry Hawks. Delaware Tech program did not participate in the pandemic-shortened 2020-2021 season last year. Rago was tasked with building the program back up in 2018, and, after a tough first year, improved by eleven wins in his second year. Rago came to Del Tech after spending nearly 30 years in high school basketball, coaching St. Elizabeth HS in Delaware. There, he won Catholic League COTY five different times, and had his teams as a regular in the state tournament over his last ten seasons.

The match-up is set for a 2:00pm tip-off at the Delaware Technical Community College Stanton Campus in Newark, DE on Saturday, December 4
th. The game is the second of a doubleheader, to be played after the conclusion of the first game between the women's basketball teams from Lackawanna College and Del Tech. Â
