Falcons Baseball Splits Opening Day in Myrtle Beach, SC

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Myrtle Beach, SC - The Lackawanna College Baseball Team began a week long road trip when they traveled to Myrtle Beach, SC to play 6 games in 3 days.  In the first game of the day, Wyatt Beddow, took the mound for the Falcons and worked 4 scoreless innings.  However, in the 5th, John Wood put together a 4 run rally, to jump out to a 4-0 lead.  In the 6th inning, David Williams would put Lackawanna on the board with a solo home run to left field.  That was followed by another solo shot, by Colin Macko in the 7th inning, to cut the John Wood lead to 4-2.  Unfortunately, that is all the offense the Falcons would get and John Wood walked away with a 4-2 win.

In the second game of the day, Bryce Timko got the start for Lackawanna and dominated the Spoon Rivers hitters in the first few innings.  He was helped out when Quinn Buffington hit a solo home run to put the Falcons up 1-0.  Lackawanna added another run when Brandon Ernst hit his first home run of the season.  The Falcons would add another 3 runs to go up 5-0, while Timko continued to frustrated the Spoon River hitters.  The Snappers were able to get 1 run across the place, but that is all they were able to do, as Lackawanna would take the victory, 5-1.

The Falcons will return to action tomorrow for another 2 games in Myrtle Beach.
