Scranton, PA – For the first time this season, the Lackawanna College Wrestling team had a home wrestling match at the Lackawanna College Historic Student Union. The Falcons had been road warriors for the first half of the season and were happy to be home in the friendly confines of the Union. Standing in the way of their first home victory were the Bulldogs of Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology. The two teams had previously met on November 26
th, with Lackawanna taking the victory by a score of 33-24.
Three of the first 4 matches saw forfeits, with Lackawanna's
Mike Tuffy (125lbs),
Connor Judge (141lbs) and
Rodney Driscoll (149lbs) each getting points. In the 157lb and 165lb weight classes, Thaddeus Stevens recorded pins on the Falcons'
Braedan Swab and
Colby Urban. Joel Turner-Rogers would put Lacakwanna ahead for good when he won by pin in the 184lb weight class. In the last match of the night,
Jayden Bortz won by forfeit, giving the Flacons a 36-18 victory, for their 8
th team win of the year.
Lackawanna returns to action next Sunday, Jan 19
th, at home when they welcome in Middlesex County College. Start time is set for 12:00pm and all the action will be streamed live on the Lackawanna College Falcons Athletic Network.
