Allentown, PA – On Saturday, November 23
rd, the Lackawanna College Wrestling team traveled to Muhlenberg College to compete in the 4
th Annual Scotty Wood Duals. The Scotty Wood Weekend is a tradition at Muhlenberg College that dates back to 1947 and includes all Mules' winter sports teams. The duals consisted of 6 NCAA Division III teams, 2 Junior Colleges, 1 USCAA team and 1 Club team. On the day, the Falcons would face Messiah College (NCAA Div III), Gettysburg College (NCAA Div III), Kent State at Tuscarawas (USCAA) and Temple University (Club).
Lackawanna started the duals off slow, dropping their first two matches to Messiah College 29-20 and to Gettysburg College 29-11. However, they would bounce back in their final two matches, winning both against Kent State at Tuscarawas 41-15 and Temple University (Club) 47-12. The Falcons finished the Duals with an overall team record of 2-2.
In addition to going 2-2 on the day, the Falcons had 4 wrestlers finish undefeated. All-American
Nate White (133),
Braedan Swab (149) and
Joel Turner-Rodgers (165) each finished 4-0, leading the way for Lackawanna, while Heavyweight
Troy Ambush finished with a record of 3-0.
Brandon Judge (141) also had a winning record at the duals, going 2-1 and both
Mike Tuffy (125) and
Chris Lovallo finished the day at .500, with 2-2 records.
The Falcons are back in action this Tuesday, November 26
th, when they travel to Lancaster, PA for a match with Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology. Start time is scheduled for 6:00pm.
