Blackwood, NJ – On Friday night, the Lackawanna College Wrestling Team traveled to New Jersey to face the Camden County College Cougars. It had been a week since the Falcons had been in action, after they competed in the Electric City Duals. However, Lackawanna wasted no time taking control of the match.
Michael Tuffy would start things off for the Falcons, in the 125lb weight class, winning by pin. Tuffy's pin would set the tone for the rest of the match, as every Falcons wrestler recorded wins on the night. All-American
Nate White won by forfeit in his 133lb weight class match, and then
Dennis Belleh (141lbs),
Brandon Judge (149lbs) and Joel Turner-Rogers (174lbs) all recorded wins by pin. In the 184lb weight class,
Troy Ambush won in dominating fashion by technical fall, 18-3. To finish out the match,
Jayden Bortz (197lbs) extended his winning streak with another win by pin.
With the win, Lackawanna College moves to 3-4 on the season as a team.
Nate White and
Jayden Bortz continued their dominance by going 10-0 and 9-0 respectively, since November 2
nd. The Falcons will return to action Wednesday, November 20
th when they host Sullivan County Community College. The match is scheduled to begin at 6:00pm at the Lackawanna College Student Union. This will be the first home match of the season for the Falcons.
