Lackawanna College Student Union

The historic Lackawanna College Student Union Gymnasium is located at 500-520 Jefferson Avenue in Scranton, and is the home for both the Lackawanna College men's and women's basketball teams, as well as the Lackawanna College women's volleyball team and the Lackawanna College men's and women's wrestling squads. The gym has undergone several major renovation projects since the College purchased the building in the early 2000's, including updates to the bleachers and seating, the floor, the lighting, the bathrooms and locker rooms, and much more.

Besides hosting Lackawanna College athletic events, the gymnasium is used internally by the College for student activities such as Intramurals and Graduation.

The Student Union Gymnasium is also host to the historic Lynett Memorial Basketball Tournament, a 70+ year high school basketball tournament held over the Christmas holidays in downtown Scranton. The Student Union has also hosted several Region XIX and NJCAA District Championships over the years, and has been a site for Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Assocation (PIAA) Basketball Playoff games.

Originally named the Catholic Youth Center, the Student Union has been home to many forms of entertainment over the course of its life in the Scranton area, including boxing, professional wrestling, concerts, semi-professional basketball, presidential visits, and more. It was opened to the public in 1950, and has been the home of local sports in Northeast PA since.
