Coach Juan Almonte was named the head women's soccer coach at Lackawanna College in July 2025, and he will be entering his first season in charge for the fall 2025 campaign.
Almonte boasts an impressive resume of international coaching credentials, earning his FAW/UEFA C-Certificate in the summer of 2024, and working towards his UEFA B-License. He also has a professional diploma in football coaching and a certification in Football Tactical Analytics, both from Barca Innovation Hub at FC Barcelona in Spain.
Before beginning at Lackawanna College, Almonte was a volunteer assistant coach at both Marywood University and East Stroudsburg University. He most recently served at ESU, where he provided analytics and tracking data to better help their student-athletes in the Spring 2025 off-season.
Almonte was a high school coach before going the collegiate route, spending a year as an assistant coach, then two as the head coach at East Stroudsburg South HS.
Almonte grew up in Passaic, NJ, where he played high school basketball. He eventually went on to graduate from New Jersey Institute of Technology with a bachelor's degree in Science, focusing on surveying engineering technology.
After over a decade of working in surveying with is own business, Almonte transitioned to ministry work, eventually becoming a senior pastor with the International Ministry Emaunel in Passaic. He also jumped into coaching, and has a private soccer training service where he delivers personalized training sessions to athletes across youth, collegiate, and professional levels.
He is currently in pursuit of a master's degree in Organizational Psychology from the University of Canterbury in New Zealand, via their MicroMasters Program online.
Almonte resides in East Stroudsburg with his wife and their two children.
