SCRANTON, Pa. -- The eighteenth Lackawanna College Athlete of the Week for the 2025-2026 school year is Lackawanna College men's basketball student-athlete,
Jahsan Simms (Hillside, NJ)!
Jahsan had a career-high 21 points to help Lackawanna College knock off Middlesex College, 86-59, this past Saturday afternoon in a key Region XIX DII game on the road. Simms scored 21 on 6-for-7 shooting, hitting a pair of three-pointers and also going 7-for-8 from the free throw line. He had 16 points in the first half, alone, helping the Falcons building a 39-24 lead, then helped the good guys maintain that lead and pull away in the second half. In two games last week, Simms had a combined 29 points, shooting 9-for-11 (81.8%) from the floor and hitting 9-for-11 on free throws. he had five rebounds and four assists. His start against Middlesex was the first time since the season opener that he started for the Falcons. On the year, Jahsan averages 6.2 points per game and 2.7 rebounds in 21 games, shooting 43.3% from the floor and 80% from the free throw line. He has scored in double-figures in six games, five instances coming since January 1st.

The men's basketball squad is back to action on Tuesday, February 3rd, with a road contest at Region XIX DII opponent Raritan Valley CC. Tip is set for 7:00pm ET in Branchburg, NJ, and the game is the second of a doubleheader, with the women's teams playing first at 5:00pm ET.
