SCRANTON, Pa. -- The sixteenth Lackawanna College Athlete of the Week for the 2025-2026 school year is Lackawanna College men's basketball student-athlete,
Jaksa Pejovic (Podgorica, Montenegro)!
Jaksa has emerged as the most consistent player for the Falcons this season, and had two good games last week to help the Falcons to a pair of wins. Against Thaddeus Stevens, Jaksa had 19 points, majority coming in the second half, and eleven rebounds in the narrow victory. Then, on Saturday against a Division I opponent, he had 13 points, eight rebounds, and a trio of assists in the win against Baltimore City CC, once again waiting for the second half to really start scoring. He scored nine of the 15 points for the Falcons in a decisive 15-0 run that gave the Falcons an insurmountable double-digit lead in the second half. Jaksa shot 58% from the floor and was 67% from the free throw line in the two games, while pulling down 19 rebounds. He has scored in double-figures in six-straight games, dating back to last month, and has three double-doubles this year. Jaksa leads the team in scoring (12.5 PPG), FG% (50.8), and is second on the team in rebounding (6.2). He's also first on the squad in FT% (76.7).
Pejovic is a first-year student-athlete at Lackawanna College studying Business and Administration, and he will be a guest on a future episode of Falcons Corner, airing every Wednesday at 10am ET at lackawannafalcons.com/youtube.
Men's basketball is back to Region XIX DII play on Tuesday, January 20th, with a road contest at County College of Morris. Tip-off is set for 7:00pm ET in Randolph, NJ.
