SCRANTON, Pa. -- The accolades continue to roll in for softball student-athlete
Jillian Heimberger (Unionville, PA), who was named to the 2025 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) All-Region Division II squads, as announced by the governing body on Tuesday morning.
Heimberger was the only Falcon honored, and she was selected as a second-team all-region selection in the Division II East.Â
Heimberger posted a .422 batting average and had 68 total hits, tied for fifth in the region this season, in 53 games. Jillian's five triples were tied for sixth in the region, third in Division II, and her 44 runs had her ranked inside the top 20 in Region XIX. Heimberger's 1.047 OPS was second on the team this season. She and Mowery led the Falcons with 41 RBIs, and her 17 extra-base hits were second for the Falcons this year. Jill led Lackawanna in appearances (53) and her 44 runs were second behind Mowery. Heimberger drew 18 walks and stole 15 bases. She had 17 multi-hit games on the year. Heimberger was a Swiss army knife for the Falcons on defense, playing the outfield, third base, and even pitcher. There wasn't a better example than her outing against Salem CC in the region playoffs, where she was 2-for-3 with five RBIs, including a two-run homer, while also pitching five shutout innings, allowing just two hits in the victory. In the circle, Heimberger finished the season with a team-best 4.34 ERA and went 7-4 in 19 appearances, 12 of which were starts. Heimberger allowed 77 runs, 51 earned, on 106 hits, striking out 42 and walking 22. Opponents hit .297 against Heimberger on the season.
Earlier this month, Heimberger earned a first-team All-Region XIX selection in Division II, one of three Falcons honored, along with fellow first-teamer
Emmalee Mowery (Mechanicsburg, PA) and second-team selection
Mia Scalese (Moscow, PA).
In all, Region XIX only earned two selections to the first and second team NFCA All-Region squad, with Kylee Hill from Delaware Tech CC as the only other selection.
