CARNEYS POINT, NJ – A tough-shooting afternoon kept Lackawanna College women's basketball down, as the Falcons fell to Salem CC, 57-44, in NJCAA Region XIX Division II action on Saturday afternoon at DuPont Fieldhouse at Salem.

The Falcons (4-8, 2-5) shot just 22% for the game, including 4-for-24 from downtown, and scored 12 or less in all four quarters on Saturday. Salem (1-8, 1-5) didn't shoot much better (28.2%), but the Mighty Oaks dominated on the boards (64-35), while holding a 32-6 advantage in points in the paint.

Tanijya Shaw led the Oaks with 22 points, while Kasey Oliver had seven points and ten rebounds and Daniella Gustin had eight points and eight boards. Jayda Hunter led all players with 17 boards, including nine offensive rebounds.

Sophia Summa (Dunmore, PA) had a career-high 23 points for the Falcons, while
Abbie Larson (Olyphant, PA) added seven points and nine rebounds.
Ali Johns (North Wales, PA) had a team-high eleven rebounds and
Alania Ortiz (Allentown, PA) had five assists to go with her six points.

The Falcons have one more game remaining in the fall semester with a home contest against Essex County College on Tuesday, December 16
th. Tip is set for 5:00pm ET inside the historic Lackawanna College Student Union gymnasium. The game will be the first of a doubleheader, with the men's teams following at 7:00pm ET.
