SCRANTON, Pa. -- The NJCAA Football committee announced Wednesday on its social media page the NJCAA Players of the Week across Division I and Division III football, and the DI Offensive POTW is Lackawanna College football wide receiver,
Christian Harrison (Temple Hills, MD)!
Christian set a school-record for receiving yards (232) and tied another school-record for receptions (11) in the 44-34 win against Monroe this past Saturday afternoon. Harrison was a constant target all day for the Falcons, securing a pair of second half touchdowns. His first grab came on a 58-yard strike from
Jacob Tiberi (Smyrna, DE) in the third quarter, where Harrison caught the ball at the 20, weaved through defenders, stayed on his feet at the five-yard line, then got some help from two receivers to push himself (and a defender) into the end zone and give Lackawanna the lead back. His second touchdown came with less than a minute remaining on a tear drop of a pass from Tiberi to the back corner. Harrison caught it and dragged a foot inbounds on the sideline to secure the win for the Falcons. Harrison now leads the Falcons in catches (25), yards (447), and touchdowns (5) on the season. He has caught a touchdown in four of his five games this season. He's fourth in the country in yards (447) and fifth in yards per game (89.4).
Christian was named as the Lackawanna College Athlete of the Week earlier this week for his performance. He's the second Lackawanna College football player named as a national POTW this season.
The Falcons are in action this Friday, October 10th, with an away game at the United States Military Academy Prep School. Kickoff is at 6:00pm ET in West Point, NY.
