(Hunlock Creek, PA), the twenty-eighth Lackawanna College Athlete of the Week for the 2023-2024 scholastic year! Â
Last week, Nick threw the first no-hitter by an individual Lackawanna College player in three years (
Kyle Scott, 2021, 5 Innings) with a seven-inning performance in game one against Del Tech on Friday, striking out 12 in an 8-0 victory. Finarelli actually had a perfect game going for the first five innings, before giving up a pair of walks in the sixth, but pitched around trouble to strand the runners. He walked another in the seventh, but got a pair of strikeouts, including the final out on a strikeout looking, to complete the game and give the Falcons their first of three-straight victories over Delaware Tech on the weekend. Finarelli now has a team-best 4.15 ERA, going 5-3 in ten games, nine starts. He has given up 27 runs, 22 earned, in 47 2/3 innings, on 46 hits. He's tied with
Nicholas Biasi (First Year; Hazle Township, PA)Â for first on the team in strikeouts (58). Opponents are hitting .238 against him this year.
Finarelli is a redshirt first year student-athlete at Lackawanna College, studying Business Management. He will be a guest on a future episode of Falcons Corner, which airs every week on the
