SCRANTON, Pa. -- Lackawanna football student-athlete
Nyair Graham (Camden, NJ) was named as this week's NJCAA Division I Defensive Player of the Week, according to an announcement via the NJCAA Football social media page on X/Twitter.
Nyair was outstanding, leading a phenomenal defensive effort for the Falcons in their 28-20 win on the road at Monroe University last Saturday. Graham had seven tackles, 3.5 tackles-for-loss, and 1.5 sacks on the day, helping lead a defense that finished with 14 TFLs and seven sacks, while holding the Monroe rushing game to just 38 yards on the ground for the day. Nyair is up to 44 tackles, third on the team, with 25 solo stops, and a team-best 13.5 tackles-for-loss.
This is the third NJCAA POTW award that the Falcons have earned this season, with
Andrew Marshall (Carroll, OH) being awarded the Defensive Player Of The Week back in last month, and kicker
Keegan Hughes getting the nod two weeks ago.
The #9 Falcons wrap up their regular season with a Sophomore Day celebration against the #2 team in the nation, the Georgia Military College Bulldogs. Kickoff is set for 1:00pm ET at PenFed Field at Scranton's Memorial Stadium.
