SCRANTON, Pa. -- After an out-of-this world performance this past weekend,
Terrez Worthy (Sophomore; Salisbury, MD) is making headlines on the national stage.
The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) has announced its Week 5 Players of the Week from Divisions I and III in Football, and the Falcons' running back was the Division I Offensive Player of the Week, thanks to his stellar performance against Nassau CC last weekend.
Worthy paced the Falcons with 342 yards and three touchdowns on 19 carries, averaging 18 yards per rush, in a 49-0 victory over Nassau this past Saturday. Worthy had four rushes for 40+ yards, three for touchdowns, and had a game-high 73-yard rush on the Falcons second possession early in the first quarter that got the offense on a roll of five straight touchdown drives to quickly blow by the Lions.
Worthy leads the nation with 654 yards rushing, averaging 163.5 yards per game, with six touchdowns and a 9.2 yards per carry average this year.
The Falcons get back to action this Saturday, when Lackawanna hosts fellow Region XIX member Sussex County CC. Kickoff is set for Saturday, September 30th, at 1:00pm from PenFed Field at Scranton Memorial Stadium.
