SCRANTON, Pa. -- The Lackawanna College Esports Rocket League team finished their regular season strong with a 3-0 win over Southside Virginia CC on Monday night, closing out NJCAAE play and winning their fifth straight contest in the process.
The match-up was a contest between two teams in different places, as SVCC is in its first year of competition, while Lackawanna College has had a little more time to build chemistry and rhythm. Each game in the series was filled with incredible passing plays and acrobatic aerial attempts on net.
Keenan Lewis (Gamertag: Fesbot) finished the night with a team-high eight goals, four assists, two saves, and 11 shots.
Juan Garcia (Gamertag: Jaepster) ended the series with five goals, a team-high five assists, one save, and 14 shots.
Caden Delaney (Gamertag: bozi) had four goals, three assists, one save, and 13 shots on the evening. The Falcons were dominant on offense, keeping the pressure on the young Panthers and really holding the ball in the offensive zone. SVCC did manage to sneak in a pair of goals throughout the match, but it didn't threaten the Falcons in any meaningful way, as Lackawanna would win 7-1, 7-1, and 3-0.
